Bi-monthly dialogues



Every other Wednesday Ireta P’urhépecha hosts virtual dialogues on relevant topics to our community. We bring community experts on these topics to guide the conversation. Topics have included: Woman’s indigenous rights, stories on migration, diaspora and identity, genetic research and its impact on indigenous communities, among many others. Past workshops
Traditional Herbalism
Introduction to traditional plants and herbs. This community workshop focused on how to grow and harvest plants, the health benefits of natural remedies, and the foundations of making tintures and extracts. This workshop was co-organized with Productos Anahuac and the Harvest Pierce County program.


Language
The P’urhépecha language workshop is a community initiative organized by Ireta P’urhépecha with support from the University of Washington Tacoma. The workshop consisted on 9 weekly sessions for beginner learners of P’urhépecha who seeks to develop basic language skills. The workshop is focused to teach real-world communication abilities and knowledge of the P’urhépecha language and culture.
